The 2019 MITCA Track & Field Clinic will not be cancelled or postponed.
Here is the ballot that will be voted on at the 2019 Track & Field Clinic.
The results for the three proposals that were recently voted on using our online voting system can be found here.
XC Proposal #1 regarding individual qualifying to the State Meet passed.
XC Proposal #2 regarding a 1 time test switch of the schedule at the State Finals did not pass.
Track Proposal #1 regarding placing the 3200m Relay in between the 100m and the 110/100m Hurdle prelims did not pass.

One special aspect of this Clinic is that MITCA will be celebrating it’s 60th anniversary and will be honoring some of our founding fathers who started this great organization.
Part of that celebration is that MITCA will be providing a lunch at the hotel for all members on Friday. This will not be in a banquet setting but a sack lunch or serve yourself style meal that MITCA is excited to add for 2019.
New in 2018 as part of MITCA & Addix’s amazing partnership is the Addix Cares Community Service Award. The Addix Cares Community Service award is awarded to 1 Track & Field team who gave back to their community in a significant manner during the 2018 Track & Field season. The winner of the award will receive $500 towards Addix uniform or gear purchases. The winner will be selected by the MITCA Executive Board and Addix representatives. Applications are due by midnight January 24th. Awards must be submitted by MITCA member coaches.

Last year MITCA membership voted to combine the Media & Communications Executive Board position with the Technology position and replace Technology with a Meet Manager position who would be in charge of all MITCA events such as Track & Field Team State, The Mid West Meet of Champions and the Mid East Team Michigan Trials. This position will be voted on at the Track & Field Clinic and if anyone is interested in running please let MITCA President Greg Miller know by Friday January 11th. Open Comment period for 3 items that will be voted on by MITCA Membership. Commenting period will be open through Friday December 28th. All comments will be posted at MITCA.org on December 29th and all active MITCA members will receive an E-Mail with voting information on Wednesday January 1st. Voting will be open until Wednesday January 9th.
There are 2 questions for Cross Country and 1 for Track & Field that will be up for vote.
Cross Country Proposal #1: Are you in favor of changing the Cross Country State Finals qualifying procedure to allow a minimum of 7 individual qualifiers (who aren’t on qualifying teams) to advance to the MHSAA State Finals?
Cross Country Proposal #2:
For a 1 year trial to gather information, are you in favor of changing the race sessions of the MHSAA Cross
Country State Meet to the following:
● Morning Session: Division 1 & Division 2
● Afternoon Session: Division 3 & Division 4
