Each year, MITCA honors 8 coaches as Michigan Track & Field “Coach of the Year” in their respective Divisions/Genders…and a total of 32 coaches as “finalists” for the honor, presenting each with a plaque at the annual Track & Field clinic in February.
Also…returning this year after a long absence, MITCA will again be honoring REGIONAL Coaches of the Year. The highest finishing coach at each regional (that is a MITCA member) will be honored as Regional Coach of the Year.
To be eligible for any of these honors, a coach must be a current, up-to-date MITCA-member before May 1 of that year.
The membership deadline for the 2017 track season is fast-approaching. If your team has the potential to finish in the Top 10 at the State Finals, you could be a finalist for Coach of the Year…but you must be a MITCA member.
If you registered and paid for the 2017 Track & Field clinic this year (February), then you are a current member. If you are not a member, there is still time, but your application and payment must be postmarked before May 1.
